Our little explorers got up close with some incredible marine life, including a sea cucumber, multiple juvenile conchs, some checkered puffers, and even some cushioned sea stars!

🐝 The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is Almost Here! πŸ¦‹

Started by Project Coordinator Becky Griffin at UGA Extension to bridge the gap in garden bug knowledge among gardeners and teachers, the Census is now a regional citizen science effort spanning Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.

The project centers around three core goals:
🌱 Creating sustainable pollinator habitat.
πŸ” Increasing the entomological literacy of our citizens.
πŸ“Š Generating useful data about our pollinator populations.

Interested in joining the count?
1️⃣ Prepare for the count days on August 21st and 22nd, 2026 by going to the website.
2️⃣ Download the printable Counting Sheet, Insect Counting and ID Guide, and Pamphlet.
3️⃣ View The Pollinator Census-How-To and History video.
4️⃣ Go out and count!
5️⃣ Upload your counts to the website. The portal to upload counts will open early on August 21st, 2026.
