๐ Training below the surface. Preparing before the call comes.
The Jupiter Police Departmentโs Underwater Recovery Team and Marine Unit recently teamed up for a training dive at one of our local wreck sites.
With members of our Marine Unit now certified in rapid diver rescue, this training was an opportunity to put those skills into practice while strengthening coordination between our teams.
But thereโs another important reason weโre diving these sites: familiarity matters.
By regularly training on local wrecks, our teams can become familiar with the underwater terrain, conditions and access points before an emergency happens. As mini season and other busy diving periods bring more divers to our waters, that firsthand knowledge can help speed up response and recovery efforts if a diver is ever reported missing.
