Class 64 cadets participated in a traditional Hawaiian ceremony called Kapu Kai. This ocean-based ritual is intended to symbolically remove negativity while honoring the traditions and experiences shared throughout the cadets’ time in the program. The event will exposed cadets to Native Hawaiian cultural traditions through respectful participation in the Kapu Kai ceremony and related activities.

The ceremony also promotes physical, mental, and spiritual wellness by encouraging reflection, unity, and personal growth. Cadets will engage respectfully with Kupu A Puu and Kī’āpu staff members who have provided tutoring, mentorship, and support throughout the cycle. The intent of this event is to foster active participation in the Kapu Kai ceremony and hands-on activities that strengthen teamwork, camaraderie, and class cohesion.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our stakeholders and vendors for taking time out of your day to support the Class 64 Youth Challenge Academy cadets during the Job Hiring Fair. The cadets truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you, complete interviews, ask questions, and apply for future opportunities.

Your support and encouragement mean so much as our cadets prepare for life after graduation, which is now less than a month away. This experience served as an important stepping stone toward their future success, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, guidance, and opportunities you provided. Thank you again for investing in our cadets and helping shape their bright futures!
