The long-awaited Library Storage Annex provides modern, climate-controlled storage designed to preserve UT Libraries’ rare and unique collections for generations to come.

And the scale is impressive: 164,205 linear feet of shelving, equivalent to 456 football fields, with space for up to 2.4 million volumes! 🏈

Among the collections finding a permanent home at the Annex are the Modern Political Archives, which have been in storage for nearly three years. Spanning more than 4,000 linear feet, the archives document the careers and legacies of select Tennesseans who served in the U.S. Congress, federal judiciary, and presidential cabinets.

We look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, November 10! 🧡📚
