Good morning,

Expecting another smattering of showers and thunderstorms today as upper level high backs off and tropical moisture surges inland. Not anticipating a severe risk, but with little flow, we could see an isolated area or two receive a heavy downpour in a short period of time.

Once again we focus our messaging on the hot weather pattern and the return to outdoor activities and school schedules.

Good morning everyone! I've got the refreshed forecast here for ya:

Heat won't be as big of an issue as we've seen recently, thanks to an influx of moisture bringing ran chances back to the region through the weekend. The cloud cover and lack of upper high pressure dome will keep us in the low to mid 90s for high's and heat indices in the 100 to 107F range.

With that being said, we are seeing the return of kiddos to school. This means parents to the early drop off line and kids to their outdoor activities.

Good morning all, rain chances do appear to return to that summertime typical pattern this week with 10 to 40 percent chances expected each afternoon. The increase in cloud cover and persistent upper level pattern will offer normal summer time temps in the low to mid 90s with heat indices in the 99 to 106F range. While this will still be a heat risk, especially for those returning to school and outdoor activities, it's a far cry from the oppressive heat wave we've had in the last weeks.

Dewpoints have dropped into the upper 60s again this afternoon making the air feel a bit less oppressive despite the mid 90s temperatures. This will likely be the last of the relatively drier air though as higher humidity returns and stays from tomorrow onward. A few afternoon thunderstorms will be possible each day through the rest of the week with somewhat higher precipitation chances next weekend.

Good Monday morning! The dry airmass brought in to the region yesterday will hang around again today! This would be a great plus if there was a breeze to move the air around, but unfortunately winds will be very light. Thus, even though it's dry it'll feel like an oven!

We will slowly return to the typical summertime pattern of hot temps but also with daily rain chances and cloud cover.

Stay careful of the heat out there this week!

Good morning,
An area of showers and storms have developed along the front moving into Lower Acadiana this morning. Not anticipating much from these while they remain on land. The front should move off shore by 10 AM or so, so any ongoing shower activity should be ending in the next couple of hours.

High pressure moves in overhead bringing about hot, very calm wind conditions Monday into Tuesday. The high backs off Wednesday to the end of the week, bringing those typical daily rain chances back to the forecast to end the work week.

Good morning all,
Today should largely be the last of this ongoing heat wave as a weak frontal boundary arrives late tonight and Sunday. While rain chances have decreased with its passage, cloudy skies, a steady breeze and cooler air will move in on Sunday, still offering a cooler day ahead!

In the meantime, a small area of southeast Texas has been highlighted for a heat advisory today. Take care out there!

Good morning all,

Another day of very warm and humid conditions are expected today. Thankfully, this should be towards the latter end of our ongoing heat wave as a weak frontal boundary approaches Saturday and passes through on Sunday. Temps in the 90s and ongoing humidity will bring about heat indices in the 102 to 108°F range with some isolated areas possibly briefly breaking into 109°F.

This will be possible again tomorrow, however, cloud cover should hopefully begin moving in from the north with the weak frontal boundary expected. Even still, temps will be very warm and there will be a heat risk Saturday. By Sunday, rain chances will begin increasing from the north during the day, further improving heat risk.

Thereafter, warmth and typical daytime rain chances should set in to start next work week.

Good Thursday morning. Can you believe we are already almost at the end of July.

Expect another hot one today (Thursday) with a Heat Advisory in effect.

Indications are that the pattern will change over the weekend allowing a surface boundary to move across late Saturday into Sunday. This will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms, along with a reduction in the heat risk.
