A boil advisory, beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, has been issued for some residents of Waterworks District Number 8.

Residents affected are those who live on LA 3256, south of address number 305 – east side of the highway only; US 90 from Manchester Road to 6910 U.S. 90; Foxwood Drive; Curry Austin Drive; Squirrel Run: Chase Lane; and Deer Walk.

The advisory is due to the water being shut off so the contractor can make a new tie-in. The water will be turned off for approximately two hours.

Residents in the affected area disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation by boiling water for one full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.

The district will rescind this boil advisory once it’s given the all-clear from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Public Health.
