UPDATE: The advisory has been lifted.

Sept. 8, 2026 -- Waterworks District No. 2 of Ward 4 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for an area along U.S. 90 from the intersection of Prater Road to 3216 U.S. 90, near Bell Verdine Road, in the Mossville area.

The advisory is due to a broken waterline.

Residents in the affected area are advised to disinfect all water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing their teeth, or using it for food preparation. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one full minute in a clean container.

The one-minute boil time begins after the water reaches a rolling boil. To improve the taste of boiled water, residents may shake the water in a clean bottle, pour it from one clean container to another, or add a small pinch of salt to each quart of boiled water.

The district will lift the boil advisory once it receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health.

UPDATE: The advisory has been lifted.

Waterworks District No. 2 of Ward 4 (Mossville) has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for residents along U.S. 90 between Prater Road and PPG Drive, including Dennis Street and PPG Drive.

The advisory is due to contractors hitting an unmarked water line.

Residents in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for one full minute before drinking, making ice, brushing their teeth or preparing food.

The advisory will be lifted once the district receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health.

Calcasieu Parish officials are closely monitoring weather conditions and potential impacts across the Parish. We expect to see some rain bands and an increase in winds, but at this time, impacts to our Parish are expected to be limited.

Our departments are prepared to respond as needed, and we will provide updates to the public as conditions develop.

Waterworks District No. 2 of Ward 4 (Mossville) has issued a precautionary boil advisory, effective Tuesday, Aug. 25, for residents on Old Spanish Trail, east of the railroad tracks to just west of Trousdale Road, including Bel Air Street.

The advisory is due to contractors tying in a new water line. Residents in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for one full minute before drinking it, making ice, brushing teeth or using it for food preparation.

The advisory will remain in effect until the district receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health.

UPDATE: The boil advisory has been lifted.

Waterworks District No. 5 of Wards 3 and 8 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for residents on Goodman Road, between Goodman Lane and Broad Street, as well as Ellis Street and Thornton Street.

The advisory is due to a 90-degree joint coming loose from a pipe. Residents in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for one full minute before drinking, making ice, brushing their teeth or preparing food.

The advisory will be lifted once the district receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health.

South Presidential Circle will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24 – Thursday, Sept. 3 for cross pipe repairs.

Residents can access East Presidential Circle by turning west onto South Presidential Circle from Executive Drive, then heading east on either Congressman Lane, Senator Lane or North Presidential Circle.

Drivers should expect delays. Work could be affected by inclement weather.

Waterworks District No. 2 of Ward 4 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for Prater Road, Duke Street, Dutchess Street, Queen Street, King Street, Prince Street, and Bryant Street in the Mossville area.

The advisory is due to a broken water main.

Residents in the affected area are advised to disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one full minute in a clean container; the one-minute time begins after the water reaches a rolling boil.

Any flat taste may be improved by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of boiled water.

Waterworks District No. 8 of Wards 3 and 8 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for Man Heyd Road, Rue Renard Rouge and Buckley Road due to a water main break.

Residents in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for one full minute before drinking it, making ice, brushing teeth or using it for food preparation.

The advisory will remain in effect until the district receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health.

EDIT: The boil advisory has been lifted.

Waterworks District No. 8 of Wards 3 & 8 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for Goos Ferry Road due to a water main break.

Residents in the affected area should bring all water to a rolling boil for one full minute before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, preparing food or consuming fountain drinks.

The advisory will remain in effect until it is lifted by the district after clearance is received from the Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health.

Green Island Road will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, until noon on Wednesday, Sept. 9, for bridge repairs.

Drivers can detour via LA 109 and LA 12.
