Beginning Wednesday, June 3, four Calcasieu Parish roads will have one-lane closures in place as power pole replacement work gets underway:

• Cleveland Road (about 600 feet south of LA 3062 to US 90) through July 2

• Fabacher Road (Edgerly Cutoff to about 800 feet north of I-10) through July 10

• West Street (J. Jardell Road to Gray Road) through July 30

• Gray Road (from West Street extending about 500 feet east) through July 30

Flaggers will be on site, and closures will be limited to the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.There are no detours, but drivers should expect delays. Work may be affected by weather.

Expect lane closures on Johnny Breaux Road from Gray Road to LA 108 beginning Friday, May 29.

One lane will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Thursday, July 2, while crews replace power poles.

There is no detour, but flaggers will be in place to help direct traffic through the work zone.

Drivers should expect delays. Work may be affected by weather.

The northbound lane of John Brannon Road, approximately 1,000 feet south of Highway 108, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28, due to a power pole replacement.

No detour will be required, but drivers should expect delays.

UPDATE: The boil advisory has been lifted.

A boil advisory remains in effect for some residents of Mossville Waterworks District No. 2 of Ward 4 following ongoing water line work in the area.

Contractors will continue work Thursday as crews install a new valve, and residents currently under the advisory will continue to be affected. The advisory is expected to remain in place through at least Friday, May 22.

Residents in the affected area should boil water for one full minute before consuming it, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food.

With additional rainfall expected this weekend, residents are encouraged to stay weather aware and monitor local conditions across Calcasieu Parish.

Drivers should expect partial lane closures on Pete Manena Road at the I-210 overpass from Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Flagging operations will be in place as equipment and trucks enter and exit off-road work areas. No detour is needed, but drivers should expect delays.

UPDATE: Due to expected weather conditions, this closure will be postponed until Tuesday, May 26.

A portion of North Perkins Ferry Road between addresses 668 and 510 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, for tree removal work.

Drivers should detour using North Perkins Ferry Road, Becky Street, Sistrunk Road, Park Road, and Tomahawk Road. Detour signs will be posted.

CONTROLLED BURN NOTICE: The Coast Guard, Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other agencies continue to respond to an oil spill in the vicinity of Black Bayou in Cameron Parish, LA.

On May 18th, 2026, Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles will be conducting a controlled burn as part of an ongoing oil spill cleanup of 30 barrels in Black Bayou, Cameron Parish, LA. In-Situ burns are a commonly used tactic that removes spilled oil from the environment while minimizing negative environmental impacts.

The oil spill and the scheduled burn do not pose an immediate danger to the public. The burn is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. CST, and will continue until approximately 7:00 p.m. CST.

During this period, a safety zone will be in effect for the Bancroft Canal from 30.02009N, -93.62300W to 30.01981N, -93.60560W. The public is advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the day.

A portion of Vincent Street from Bunker Road to Jones Street will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 16 through Wednesday, June 3 due to power pole replacement.

There is no detour, but alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures will be in place. Drivers should expect delays.
