Park County Residents need a burn permit from their local fire district. USFS is still in STAGE I restrictions.

By order of the Park County Sheriff's Office, Stage II Fire Restrictions will be lifted as of noon today, August 27th.

Please continue to use extreme caution and good judgment when it comes to all fire risk activity.

The slash drop off starts this Saturday. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get some mitigation completed.

Park County will be holding slash collection days in Lake George and Jefferson every Saturday 9am-4pm from August 29 until September 26.

Last night, August 16th, Lake George Fire responded to a single tree lightening strike fire. The location was difficult to get to. Lake George Fire was able to assist USFS crews utilizing our new drone (purchased with proceeds from our 2025 Fundraiser) to find an closer access road and direct crews that were hiking in to the exact location. We were also able to verify what was burning and what the spread potential would be.

What an awesome turnout for our Annual Spaghetti Dinner. Thank you to all who attended, donated (both cash and items), we are so appreciative of our amazing community.
