⭐ Introducing our High School Student of the Week, Austin! ⭐
Kensington Woods Schools recognizes senior Austin Hopp as this week’s Student of the Week. Austin is a member of the Early College Program and is working toward his Michigan Transfer Agreement Certificate through Washtenaw Community College. He plans to transfer to Michigan State University to study computer science with a specialization in digital forensics. Over his years at Kensington Woods, Austin has shown tremendous growth in both academics and character. He is highly dependable, willing to put in the work it takes to be successful, and able to find the humor in things, which makes him enjoyable to be around and helps bring a positive energy to those around him.
Austin has also made meaningful contributions outside the classroom. He is a member of the cast of the senior production of Macbeth and also served as the show’s sound designer, taking on both performance and technical responsibilities. For his Senior Exhibition project, Austin is exploring the topic of artificial intelligence, researching how deepfakes can be identified and creating an informative video to help the public better understand how to spot them. His English teacher, Mr. Ferguson, shared, “Austin is willing to put in the work that it takes to be successful. He has an excellent brain for logistics and organization.”
