Calling all teens and pre-teens!

Join us at Lakeside Public Library on Friday, August 14 from 2:00–3:30 PM for an afternoon of tie dye! We’ll be making tie-dye aprons and T-shirts and getting a little creative (and probably a little colorful).

Snacks and drinks will be provided, too!

Our teen and pre-teen creative cooking and crafting group meets on the second Friday of every month, so come hang out and make something fun with us.

What a wonderful week it has been at Lakeside Public Library!

After all the work, renovations and waiting, we have been so excited to welcome our community back through the doors. Seeing familiar faces, meeting new patrons and watching everyone explore the refreshed space has made reopening feel extra special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, checked out books, signed up for a library card or simply came in to say hello. We are so happy to be open and serving Lakeside again!

The wait is over! Lakeside Public Library officially reopens on Monday, July 20, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back through our doors.

Come explore the newly renovated library, browse the shelves and take advantage of everything we have to offer, including:
• Books for all ages
• DVDs
• Audiobooks
• Graphic novels
• Public computers
• Faxing and copying services

If you’ve never had a library card, now is the perfect time to stop in and get one. We’d love to meet some new faces alongside all of our wonderful returning patrons.

Our Summer Reading Program is still happening every Tuesday at 1:00 PM, and this Tuesday evening we’ll also be hosting Creature Teachers, an exciting live animal show at 6:00 PM. This special event is free and everyone is welcome!

Thank you for your patience during our renovation. We can’t wait to show you the finished space and see the library filled with our community again.

The library is still under construction… but every day it looks a little more like a library again!

We’re making great progress, and while there are still contractors, electricians and IT crews hard at work, the shelves are slowly filling back up with books. It’s exciting to watch everything come together!

In the meantime, we’re still serving our community from Lakeside City Hall every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Stop by to place holds, pick up your books or chat with the librarian. We’ll continue calling patrons as soon as their holds are ready.

📚 Summer Reading is also in full swing every Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers, and everyone is welcome to join the fun!

Last week our young readers enjoyed a field trip to Shore Acres and a visit from Miss Pearl the Clown. We’ve had an amazing summer so far, and there’s plenty more fun ahead.

Take a peek at the latest renovation photos and watch the transformation with us. We can’t wait to open our doors again!
