The Reading for Change Book Discussion Group explores race, ethnicity, equity, and inclusion through thoughtful discussion. Participants will deepen their understanding of systemic racism and social justice, reflect on their roles in these systems, and identify ways to create meaningful change. The group meets monthly, spending two to three months on each book to allow for deeper conversation and community impact. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00.

In August we will discuss In the Midst of Winter by Isabel Allende.

In the Midst of Winter is a novel that explores love, immigration, and resilience. Following a car accident during a massive Brooklyn snowstorm, three strangers—a detached professor, a Chilean lecturer, and a young undocumented Guatemalan woman—form an unlikely bond, uncovering dark secrets and finding unexpected love and hope.
