Nothing like beating the heat with snow cones and LVMPD at the Back-to-School Splash at the Laughlin Aquatic Center! 🍧☀️💦

We had a great time cooling off and connecting with our community! 🎒📚 Over 250 people came out to enjoy the event, making it a fantastic way to kick off the new school year! 🙌

It was great to connect with teachers, students, families, and local businesses. We are always proud to support our local community. 👮 🚓

It is with profound sadness that we honor the life and sacrifice of LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi was a 30-year-old Marine Corps veteran who dedicated his life to serving both his country and his community. After joining the LVMPD in November 2023, he was assigned to the LVMPD Southeast Area Command, where his infectious laugh, larger-than-life personality, and genuine compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Above all, he cherished his wife, Sage, with whom he shared eight years of marriage.

On August 4, 2026, Officer Abdelnabi was tragically killed in the line of duty while responding to a call involving a person with a gun.

We ask our community to keep Officer Abdelnabi's family, friends, and our entire LVMPD family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Officer Austin Abdelnabi's courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We will honor his legacy.
