Parks and Recreation has a lot of moving parts, and the Gwinnett 101 Citizens Academy got a closer look this week!

The group visited the Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center to meet with our recreation, grounds maintenance, operations logistics, and aquatics teams. From presentations to hands-on activities, they got a behind-the-scenes look at the people and work that keep our award-winning parks running.

Registration ends tomorrow! The No Limits TryAthlon is back Saturday, September 26, at the Bogan Park Aquatic Center, bringing swimming, biking, running, and plenty of cheering to the course.

Designed for athletes ages 4 to 21 with cognitive or physical disabilities, this event celebrates what inclusive recreation is all about: creating opportunities for everyone to move, participate, and belong. Every athlete gets their moment to shine, and every finish is worth celebrating.

This unique 233-acre campus brings together science, culture, and outdoor exploration. This destination is known for its five miles of scenic trails, a historic home, and Gwinnett’s first LEED-certified building, which features interactive museum exhibits.

Join us on Saturday, October 3, for a special anniversary festival celebrating 20 years of community impact. Families can enjoy activities throughout the day, including living history demonstrations at the historic Chesser-Williams House, screenings of the award-winning short film Blue Planet, guided trail hikes, and more.

Don’t miss out on the chance to camp out!

There are a few spots available for our Autumn Equinox Camp Out at Tribble Mill Park on Friday, September 18 at 5:30pm through 9:00am on Saturday, September 19. Dinner, nature activities, a campfire with s’mores, and breakfast treats are included in this beginner-friendly and all-ages camping adventure!
