The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize Corporal C. Walker as the August Spotlight of the Month.

With 14 years of dedicated service to the GCSO, Corporal Walker has served in both Jail Operations and Support Operations, gaining valuable experience across several areas of the agency. In Support Operations, he contributed to community-focused initiatives through Community Outreach and the Gwinnett Re-Entry Intervention Program (GRIP). He currently manages the Maintenance Security Unit, where he continues to play an important role in supporting the agency’s daily operations and mission of serving the community.

Most recently, Corporal Walker demonstrated initiative by successfully planning and leading logistics of the GCSO Back-to-School Bash, ensuring the event was well organized. His efforts demonstrated strong leadership and a continued commitment to creating positive experiences for the community.

Looking ahead, Corporal Walker is committed to continued professional growth and developing his leadership abilities. He strives to build upon his knowledge and experience, strengthen those around him, and take on greater responsibilities that allow him to effectively contribute to the agency. Inspired by the words of Arthur Ashe, “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can,” Corporal Walker continues to approach each assignment with the determination to make a positive impact.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office commends Corporal C. Walker for his professionalism and 14 years of dedicated service to the agency and to the residents of Gwinnett County.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize Project Coordinator Lucian Heredea as the August Spotlight of the Month.

Project Coordinator Heredea consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism while overseeing the maintenance and daily operations of the Gwinnett County Jail—one of the largest detention facilities in the state. He currently leads a team of 24 employees responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure throughout the jail. Under his leadership, the team has successfully completed and managed high-impact projects, including boiler and water heater replacements, HVAC upgrades, fire alarm improvements, control board installations, equipment replacements, and elevator modernization planning.

Project Coordinator Heredea completed the 15-week LEAD Academy in 2023, a Gwinnett County leadership program focused on management fundamentals. In 2024, he also completed EXCEL, an eight-month leadership development program designed to promote professional growth and equip participants with the skills needed to thrive in leadership roles. Known for his calm demeanor, sound judgment, and willingness to support staff, Project Coordinator Heredea provides the guidance needed to remove obstacles, keep projects moving, and ensure his team has what they need to succeed.

Project Coordinator Heredea’s philosophy is simple: “Take care of your team, do the work the right way, and leave things better than you found them.”

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office commends Project Coordinator Lucian Heredea for his outstanding leadership, dedication to his team, and commitment to keeping our agency safe, efficient, and reliable.
