Get ready for a reel good time!

Join us for the annual Lebanon Kiwanis Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 6, at the Hot Pond, 700 E. Noble Street, Lebanon. This free event is open to children ages 5 to 17 and continues a 33-year tradition of bringing the community together through fun, family-friendly activities.

Event Schedule:
Registration: Begins at 8:00 a.m.
Fishing Begins: 8:30 a.m.
Prize Ceremony: 10:15 a.m. (awards by age group)

What to Bring:
A fishing pole
Bait
An adult (all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Participants will receive a bag of goodies donated by generous local businesses. After the lines are reeled in, kids can enjoy a free shaved ice treat from the Kona Ice Truck and complementary lunch featuring hot dogs and chips!

Today kicks off National Gun Storage Safety check week, June 1st-June 7th.

Secure firearm storage is the most effective way to help prevent firearm accidents, suicides and theft. Storage options are available at every budget level, including cable locks, lock boxes and full-size safes, to ensure fi****ms are securely stored when not in use.

Smith Township P.D. has given away several hundred gun locks over the last several years and is reminding residents that free gun locks and information can be picked up at the Police Department.
