Yesterday evening, our firefighters responded to a structure fire under extremely hot and challenging conditions. The intense heat made an already difficult incident even more demanding, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work, professionalism, and dedication shown by everyone on scene.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our mutual aid partners from Higginsville Fire Protection District, Mayview Fire Protection District, Corder-Dover Fire Protection District, and Wellington Fire Protection District for their rapid response and assistance. Your teamwork and support are invaluable and demonstrate the strength of our mutual aid system.

We also want to thank the Lafayette County Sheriffs providing traffic control and keeping the roadway safe.

As temperatures continue to remain high, we encourage everyone to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and practice fire safety.

Thank you to our community for your continued support of your firefighters and all first responders.

Yesterday evening, the Lexington Fire Department responded to a structure fire within our community. Thanks to the quick response, professionalism, and teamwork of everyone involved, the fire was brought under control and further damage was limited.
