Our purpose is simple; to provide fire protection to an area in the county that was caught between jurisdictions. we changed our name to Mid-County Fire/Rescue to reflect our expanded capabilities. Our dedicated all volunteer membership protects about 3000 residents, as well as anyone who m

ay travel through the area. We have a mix of commercial, residential, churches and schools within a 50 square miles of rural Caldwell County. We are located between the cities of Lockhart and Luling, with our coverage area being split by US HWY 183. As a department we respond to wildland fires, auto accidents and structure fires. Mid-County Fire/Rescue has only been in existence for 30 years, our membership has over 140 years of fire experience. Our members hold over 42 different state certifications ranging from SSMA, TCFP, DSHS and TFS.
