Travelers' Rest Connection

Travelers' Rest Connection This National Historic Landmark is the only archeologically confirmed Lewis and Clark campsite in the nation.

Used by the Bitterroot Séliš for thousands of years, the park also has a visitor center, museum and interpreters year round. Visitor Center/Museum hours: 10 am to 4 pm, Wednesday - Saturday, noon to 4 pm Sunday. Please note that the park itself is open from 9 to 5 daily. The Visitor Center will be closed November 24, December 24 & 25, January 1. The Park Gates are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and close at 1pm on New Years Day.

🐻 Join us on Saturday, May 23 at Travelers' Rest State Park to learn practical tools for reducing conflicts with bears near home and when out recreating. 🏠🚵

This free, family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a variety of drop-in booths and activities. See more: www.facebook.com/events/996683179461590

⭐ Refresh on bear safety tips, practice using inert bear spray cans by aiming at a remote-controlled charging bear, learn tips for how to keep bear attractants secure at home, see shepherding by Wind River Bear Institute Karelian bear dogs, and connect with local experts.

▶ A special kids program focused on bears will also be offered from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. as part of the “Trekker Kids” program series that runs each Saturday at the park through the end of May.
