Officer Mears has been a valued member of our department, and we are excited to see her take this next step in her career. This month we are proud to highlight DETECTIVE DESTIN GUILLOT, who has been serving with Long Beach Police Department since 2019. Detective Guillot is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division and is a member of the Harrison County Metro SWAT Team.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE LAW ENFORCEMENT?
“I chose a career in law enforcement because I wanted to be able to help others. I wanted to be the voice of reason and comfort for those who are facing their hardest times. I wanted to protect others.”

“Being able to help others in their time of need.”

“I’m a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. I am a husband to an amazing wife, and a father to two wonderful children. I have over 10 years of service in law enforcement, with over 6 of them serving the residents of Long Beach.”

- Spending time with my wife and kids
- Coaching baseball for the Long Beach Youth Baseball League
- Scuba diving

🎒🚌 Ready or not... the buses are rolling, the alarm clocks are ringing, and "What do you mean summer's over?!" is being heard all across town.

As we kick off a brand-new school year, School Resource Officers Butler, Stirrat and Hammer are ready to welcome students with smiles, support, and maybe even a few high-fives! 🖐

Tomorrow is the start of a brand-new school year!

As students head back to class, let's all do our part to help keep our kids safe. Slow down, put distractions away, watch for children crossing the street, stop for school buses loading and unloading children and be patient with increased traffic.
