Under Chief Lauretta Hill's leadership, DPS is one of the largest campus law enforcement agencies

The primary goal of DPS is to provide a safe and secure environment in which the social and academic endeavors of the University community may be fully realized. To achieve this goal, the department needs cooperation and support from students, staff and faculty in reporting incidents, utilizing the services the department provides and adhering to basic crime prevention practices. We appreciate your visit to our page and encourage you to explore and learn more about the various ways we serve the Trojan family and community. The department employees are committed to preserving the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors to the University of Southern California, and they do so through a variety of enforcement, prevention and educational programs.

We’re proud to recognize our Crime Analysts, Ryan and Erick— two USC alumni who chose to stay after graduation and continue giving back to the Trojan community. Through their expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to public safety, they provide valuable intelligence and analysis that supports our officers and strengthens safety across USC.

Remembering September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later

The USC Department of Public Safety was honored to host the 25th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony commemorating the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We pause to remember the victims, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and recognize the strength and unity that emerged in the face of tragedy.

Thank you to all those who were able to attend this ceremony to remember and reflect with us. A special thank you to Jordyn Diew from the USC Thorton School of Music for beautifully singing our national anthem. 🇺🇸

25 years later, we still remember.

USC DPS Assistant Chief Carlise reflects on the events of September 11, 2001, and the lasting impact of a day that forever changed our nation.

Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran towards the danger, and the countless acts of courage, service, and compassion that followed.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and ensure their stories are never forgotten.
