Earlier this week, we proudly welcomed six new officers to the UCLA Police Department during a swearing-in ceremony.

The occasion was made even more meaningful by the families and loved ones who joined us to celebrate this milestone and take part in the badge-pinning tradition.

We’re proud to welcome our newest officers to UCPD and the Bruin community. 🐻🚔

This week, UCLA welcomed the UC Board of Regents to campus.

Throughout the week, UCPD personnel were on hand to support campus operations and help keep our community safe.

A special thank you to the California Highway Patrol and our law enforcement partners from across the University of California system for their assistance and collaboration throughout the week.

UCPD was proud to join our law enforcement partners Saturday at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Pink Patch 5K Run/Walk in support of breast cancer awareness.

The event brought agencies and community members together in support of the Pink Patch Project and those impacted by breast cancer.

UCPD’s 2026 Pink Patch Project is also underway, with patches, challenge coins and lapel pins available through October 31. All proceeds benefit the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation. 🎀

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the lives lost and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

We were honored to join our partners at the Los Angeles Fire Department for today’s 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

We remain grateful to the first responders who served that day, those who continued serving in the days and months that followed, and all who carry forward their legacy of service.

We will never forget.

A message from Steve Lurie, Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus & Community Safety.

The UC Board of Regents will be on campus Sept. 14–16 for meetings at the Luskin Conference Center. You may notice:

➡️ An increased police and security presence in and around key campus areas
➡️ Designated areas for public expression and other temporary measures intended to support campus safety and minimize disruptions

Please plan ahead, allow extra time when moving through the area and follow posted guidance.

Thanks for your cooperation, Bruins. 🐻

Summer may be winding down, but our commitment to the UCLA community never does.

From patrol officers and motor officers to our CSOs and PSAs, UCPD is here year-round to serve, support and help keep our campus community safe. We’ve enjoyed seeing Bruins on campus throughout the summer, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for fall quarter.

See you around campus, Bruins! 💙💛

Join us for Coffee with a Cop! ☕️👮

Stop by next Saturday, Sept. 19, to meet members of the UCLA Police Department, ask questions, share what’s on your mind and connect with the officers who serve the Bruin community.

No speeches. No agenda. Just coffee and conversation.

We hope to see you there!

A big thank you to the Westwood Village Rotary Club for its generous donation in support of UCPD’s PAWS Program and Josie.

This support helps make Josie’s work with our UCLA community possible, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club for investing in the program and its continued impact.

We also appreciate our partners at the UCLA Foundation for helping make this support possible.

We’re thankful for the community partnerships that help Josie continue doing what she does best: bringing comfort, support and a little extra joy to those who need it most. 💙💛

Strong partnerships make for a stronger response.

This week, UCPD joined our LAPD partners for a regional public safety exercise on our UCLA campus, working side by side through complex scenarios designed to strengthen coordination across agencies.

Exercises like this are an important opportunity to build familiarity, test how we operate together and reinforce the relationships that matter during a critical incident.

We’re grateful to the Los Angeles Police Department for its continued partnership and collaboration in helping keep UCLA and our surrounding communities safe.

Happy National Dog Day from some of UCPD’s hardest-working four-legged team members!

Josie, Nova, and Rocket each bring their own skills, personality and plenty of tail wags to the UCLA community. Whether supporting our community or working alongside their handlers to help keep campus safe, we’re lucky to have them on the team.

Today, we’re celebrating the dogs who make every shift a little better. 💙💛🐶
