The single most powerful thing you can do to defend democracy this election is VOTE EARLY. No putting it off until the last minute this year 😃

We believe figuring out your ballot should feel a lot less like homework and more like hanging out with your neighbors and learning together.

Not everyone is plugged into LA Forward enough to know about our ballot parties, but since YOU’RE plugged in, what if you had your OWN ballot party? 🎉

Join LA Forward organizers Jason Enright and Godfrey Plata to walk through the basics of hosting your OWN effective ballot party — where the goal is to get together in a casual setting with 5 or more friends/family/neighbors/pickleball teammates/book club members, and walk through your ballots together! During this Zoom, we’ll walk through what to expect on the ballot so you have a little more information and confidence to bring your peeps together for a low-key (or high-key if you want) ballot-filling party.

Many residents across LA County agree that we need housing for all, but it’s easier said than done: how does housing even get built? 🤔 Join LA Forward Institute, Eastside Housing For All and Alhambra Urbanists for a light dinner and learning session with Jed Leano, Claremont City Councilmember and Senior Policy Advisor for Inner City Law Center. He’ll walk through his experiences inside government and outside government as a way of helping us build a foundational understanding of how housing gets built.

Join us for a Protect Our Votes Mass Training. 1,000 people are coming together from 100+ organizations from across LA County. We have nonpartisan and partisan groups involved, groups backing different candidates in all kinds of races, working together as of the Love Powers LA collaborative. Because this isn’t about candidates – this is about defending democracy itself‼️

❌NO on Prop 39 — Adds new voter ID barriers to voting. ACLU of Southern California is joining us to cover this one.

❌NO on Prop 43 — Lets a minority of voters block critical funding for our communities by raising the approval threshold to two-thirds.

❌NO on Prop 45 — Weakens environmental regulations for major development. Guest: Communities for a Better Environment
