Almost 250 years later, the Star-Spangled Banner still brings people to their feet. 🇺🇸

The Holy Name Band once again put on a great summer performance, and this year’s concert was especially enjoyable. From God Bless America to a variety of marches, the program was a wonderful evening of music that left us feeling proud to celebrate our country and community.

Use It or Lose It! 🧠

This week, we welcomed Leah Hatfield from NeuroRestorative back for another Community Speaks presentation!

In recognition of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, Leah spent time with our residents discussing simple, effective ways to keep their minds active and support brain health as they age.

One of the key takeaways from the presentation was that just 30 minutes of focused brain activity each day can have a significant impact on maintaining cognitive health and reducing some effects of aging on the brain. The best part? Those 30 minutes don't have to be completed all at once. They can be divided throughout the day to fit any schedule.

📋 A well-rounded brain health routine should include:
Social interaction
Exercise or physical activity
Brain-focused learning or movement

🧩 Brain-focused activities can include:
Crossword puzzles
Board and card games
Knitting
Jigsaw puzzles
Painting
Playing a musical instrument
Practicing balance exercises
And so much more!

Join us for an evening of patriotic favorites as we celebrate America's 250th anniversary. This talented group is sure to entertain with a selection of beloved American classics that you won't want to miss.

When life gives you sunshine, you throw an impromptu cookout! ☀️

Our dining team knocked it out of the park yesterday with burgers, brats, and hot dogs for the residents to get out and enjoy some the afternoon. The fresh gardening brightened up the patio and the fresh watermelon helped cool us off!

Trivia Tuesday happens on the first Tuesday of every month, and we get just as excited each time. The lineup of questions and jokes from Dennis pair so well with the homemade chili and competition with friends!

We enjoyed a scenic drive to Mike Linnig’s for lunch with a wonderful group of residents. Along the way, conversation turned to an important local distinction: It’s Mike Linnig’s, not Mike Linning’s! 🤣

The lunch was delicious, the weather was beautiful, and the company was truly irreplaceable. 🥰
