Our take on the “I Once Was…” trend! 🎥

Yes, these were once their careers, but behind every title, uniform, and position is a person with a story, a lifetime of memories, and plenty of personality. ❤️

We’re so lucky to know and love these residents and the incredible lives they’ve lived! 🥰

With the heat wave lingering around, we needed an activity that cooled us down and satisfied our sweet tooth! ☀️🍦

Science for Seniors taught us the science behind homemade ice cream using salt, ice, sugar, vanilla, milk, and cream. We mixed the milk, cream, vanilla, and sugar in Ziploc bags, then placed them inside another bag filled with ice and salt.

The next step was simple: shake the bag until our hands were frozen and our arms were too tired to shake anymore! 😂

After some frozen fingers and tired arms, we pulled out our spoons and enjoyed the delicious results of our little science experiment. 🥄🍦

Nothing like a little science to help us beat the heat!

The Sing-a-long Sisters performing "76 Trombones" while marching through the audience like a real marching band!

The Sing-a-Long Sisters stopped by earlier this week for a surprise performance! 🎶

Thanks to one of our residents, Lynda, we were able to bring this group in for a fun and upbeat arrangement of songs that had everyone smiling.

From interacting with the audience to pulling out props and costumes, they brought so much energy and personality to their performance. They certainly made us smile and set the tone (no pun intended!) for a great week!
