Congratulations, Paramedic Class of 2026! 🚑🎓

On June 18th, we celebrated an incredible milestone as nine students officially graduated from the UMC EMS Paramedic Program.

Over the past year, these graduates have dedicated countless hours to classroom instruction, clinical rotations, field internships, and hands on training. Their commitment, perseverance, and passion for serving others have brought them to this moment, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. While some have already completed their National Registry testing and others are preparing to take that final step, each graduate has demonstrated the knowledge, skill, and determination required to succeed in the paramedic profession.

Please join us in congratulating the Paramedic Class of 2026 as they continue their journey toward providing advanced prehospital care to the communities they serve.

Happy EMS Week to the men and women who answer the call no matter the hour, weather, or circumstances. 🚑💙

This job demands compassion, sacrifice, resilience, and the ability to stay calm in the middle of chaos. Behind every siren is a team willing to step into someone’s worst day and provide care when it matters most. At UMC EMS, all of our units are MICU capable, allowing our crews to provide ICU-level care right on the streets. Our paramedics are specially trained to manage ventilators, administer whole blood, and deliver advanced critical care interventions long before a patient reaches the hospital. From life saving procedures to simply offering comfort in difficult moments, every call matters. We are proud to serve our community alongside such dedicated EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters, nurses, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals.

Thank you to every first responder and healthcare worker for the sacrifices you make daily. This week, we celebrate YOU and the heart behind EMS.

On April 30th, our very own Jackie Buck was nominated for the Unsung Hero Award. Jackie embodies what it means to serve. Quiet dedication, unwavering compassion, and a commitment to others that never asks for recognition. Please join us in congratulating him and celebrating the incredible impact he makes each and every day. We are beyond honored to have him as part of our family.

During the ceremony, we also took time to honor and remember two of our own, Paramedics Daniel Le and Audrey Newman, along with a member of the Lubbock Police Department. These were not just colleagues, but friends, mentors, and family. Their loss is deeply felt, but their legacy lives on in every call answered, every life touched, and every story shared. Though they may be gone, they will never be forgotten. Their dedication and sacrifice continue to inspire us, and we carry their memory with us in all that we do.

Standing by and ready 💪

Our crew had the privilege of providing medical coverage for concertgoers while enjoying some incredible live music. Keeping the community safe is always our priority even when we get to do it with a little background from a legend like George Strait! 🎶

We’re proud to serve, no matter the setting. Thank you to everyone who helps make events like this safe and successful!
