Congratulations Ta’Shawn Poole

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player Of The Week for October 2nd: Ta'Shawn Poole, SR, WR/DB, Howard High School. Ta'Shawn ran the game winning kickoff back 85 yards for a touchdown. He also had 5 receptions for 51 yards, and on defense collected 6 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss, in his team's 20-13 win over Spalding High School.

As part of our PUSH to make students prepared for the future, we have amazing opportunities for our students to test their knowledge.

Starting today, October 5th, our students will have several opportunities to PUSH themselves towards their future goals. All seniors are taking the ASVAB today. Our 11th graders will take the ASVAB on October 26th.

The PSAT will be given to our 10th graders on Tuesday, October 20th. This is a great opportunity for 10th graders to get an early start on potential scholarships, including the National Merit Scholarship.

Today, we had the honor of celebrating Telisha as the first senior to add her name to our After High School Wall! 🐾❤️ Telisha was the first of our seniors to share her plans for life after graduation with us, and we are so proud to recognize her accomplishment: she has enlisted in the military and will be heading to Basic Training shortly after graduation in May.

This wall will celebrate our seniors and the many different paths they will take after high school—including college, technical school, military service, careers, and other exciting opportunities. We can’t wait to watch this wall fill up with the names of our seniors and their plans for the future! Each name represents a dream, a goal, and a new beginning. 🎓✨

Congratulations, Telisha! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that your future holds! 🐾❤️

GEAR UP is offering a Fall Intersession for 9th graders the week of Fall Break on October 12-13 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Students will have the opportunity to get caught up on assignments, recover attendance, and complete dual-enrollment assignments. Students will also have a learning experience and get an opportunity to tour the Georgia Tech campus.
