Today's Bibb PBIS Back-to-School Bash was a great success! Lots of famillies came through to get connected with uniforms, supplies, backpacks and other community resources. We couldn't make this event happen without all of our volunteers and sponsors!

Last night was a great start to 2026-2027 for our middle and high school families at Open House! Next up, our elementary schools will welcome families from 3:30-6 p.m. this evening!

The District and the Board of Education were proud to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the planned Macon Arena project! Superintendent Dr. Dan A. Sims delivered remarks about the impact of this impressive new facility, and the Central High School Marching Sugarbear Band provided music. They had the assistance of the Howard High School cheerleaders in welcoming everyone to this wonderful event. We love our city!

Today, the District's Transportation Department hosted AAA's annual "School's Open, Drive Carefully" campaign. Speakers at this event, also a partnership with Georgia GOHS and Georgia Department of Public Safety, provided several tips for drivers ahead of the first day of school on August 3:

- Slow down in school zones
- Be aware of children near the roadway, particularly during peak pick-up and drop-off times
- Talk to children about safety near roadways
- Consider a "dry run" for new drivers before the first day
- Encourage safety on vehicles like e-bikes and scooters
- Don't pass a bus when the arm is extended and lights are flashing
- Avoid distractions such as cell phones

Let's all work together to keep our children safe this school year!
