A major win for Macon-Bibb.

This announcement brings an initial $57 million investment and up to 70 new jobs, with plans for additional growth in the years ahead. As MBCIA Chairman Robby Fountain shared, “This project brings new jobs, meaningful investment, and continued momentum to our community.”

ArcelorMittal Building Solutions announced plans that will create more than 140 jobs over the next several years in Macon-Bibb County.

The new ArcelorMittal Building Solutions headquarters and manufacturing operation, which will also include a new training facility, will be located at the Airport South site in Macon. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with operations targeted to commence in the second half of 2027, subject to customary permitting and approvals.

MBCIA is proud to support Unified Legacy’s continued growth in Macon-Bibb County.

Announced by Governor Brian P. Kemp, Unified Legacy will invest $125 million in a new manufacturing facility in Macon, creating 500 new jobs over the next several years.

“This project reflects the importance of strong partnerships and a shared vision for the future,” said MBCIA Chairman Robby Fountain. “Through collaboration between MBCIA, the Macon Water Authority, Macon-Bibb County, and Unified Legacy, the infrastructure improvements supporting the company’s expansion will not only position it for long-term success but also strengthen capacity and support future growth throughout the surrounding area.”

This investment is about more than job creation. It reflects the long-term impact of strong infrastructure, local collaboration, and continued support for companies choosing to grow in Macon-Bibb County.

The academy brings together finance leaders from local and state governments across Georgia for advanced training in governmental budgeting, debt issuance, treasury management, financial leadership, economic development, and long-term fiscal sustainability.
