Today is the 87th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland.

On September 17, 1939, the Red Army invaded Poland from the east, striking a fatal blow to a nation already fiercely resisting N**i German aggression from the west.

This unprovoked attack was the direct result of the secret Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, in which N**i Germany and the Soviet Union conspired to partition Poland and divide Central and Eastern Europe between totalitarian regimes.

The Soviet invasion marked the beginning of decades of brutal repression:

- Mass deportations: Hundreds of thousands of Polish citizens were forcibly exiled to Soviet labor camps in Siberia.

- The Katyn Massacre: Over 21,000 Polish officers, policemen, and intellectuals were systematically executed in the spring of 1940.

- Loss of sovereignty: Decades of foreign domination and forced partition followed.

Today, on the 87th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland we honor the memory of the fallen soldiers, murder victims, and hundreds of thousands of deportees whose lives were altered forever by Soviet totalitarianism.

We remember. 🇵🇱🕯️
