The MNPD strongly encourages Nashvillians and visitors to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables---especially guns, and REMOVE THE KEYS.
So far this year, 401 guns have been stolen from vehicles in Nashville, 17 were taken from autos last week. The total number of guns stolen this year in Davidson County is 602, which means that 66% of guns stolen so far in 2026 have been taken from automobiles.
Just like guns taken from vehicles, stolen autos are routinely involved in criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies

The MNPD strongly encourages Nashvillians and visitors to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables---especially guns, and REMOVE THE KEYS.
So far this year, 376 guns have been stolen from vehicles in Nashville, 15 were taken from autos last week. The total number of guns stolen this year in Davidson County is 570, which means that 65% of guns stolen so far in 2026 have been taken from automobiles. Last year at this same time, 587 guns had been stolen from vehicles reflecting a 211 decrease from last year.
Just like guns taken from vehicles, stolen autos are routinely involved in criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies.

So far this year, 355 guns have been stolen from vehicles in Nashville, 18 were taken from autos last week. The total number of guns stolen this year in Davidson County is 544, which means that 65% of guns stolen so far in 2026 have been taken from automobiles. Last year at this same time, 572 guns had been stolen from vehicles.
Just like guns taken from vehicles, stolen autos are routinely involved in criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies.
