Parents, students, and Mathis family;

There is currently a trend on TikTok going around the United States involving a Cat In The Hat character that is not appropriate. Some trends are cute and fun, while others can be dangerous. This trend is not appropriate. Mathis ISD is working with Mathis PD to ensure all students are safe. We have extra security on campus and will investigate the posts of the trend that has named Mathis and some of our students. Please understand that posting threatening information on social media has a very negative impact on our students and community and can lead to serious consequences. We will continue to work with Mathis PD to maintain campus safety, online and in person.

📢 MATHIS ISD ATHLETICS – PARENT RELEASE FORM REQUIRED 🏴‍☠️
Parents/Guardians, please be aware of an important requirement for students participating in athletic events.
If you plan to personally pick up your child after a sporting event instead of having them ride the bus home, a Parent Release Form must be completed and submitted to the coaching staff. It can be located at the bottom of the Athletics department webpage.
✅ If the student will be picked up by someone other than their legal parent/guardian:
The bottom portion of the Parent Release Form must be notarized before it is submitted.
📋 When should the form be turned in?
Forms must be given to a member of the coaching staff at the event or prior to bus departure for the event.
🚨 Please plan ahead! Students will not be released to an individual unless the required Parent Release Form has been properly completed and submitted.
Thank you for helping us keep our student-athletes safe and ensuring we have proper documentation for every student’s transportation arrangement(s).

Last night our school board approved a change to our district academic calendar due to the San Patricio County Show being the last week of January instead of the third week of January where it typically occurs. School will now be closed on January 28-29 instead of January 21-22.
