We’re thankful for a community that has a wonderful working partnership with all our first responder bothers and sisters!

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had the honor of participating in the annual Prom Promise detail at the Jackson County High School this morning.

Every year this detail is overseen by Jackson County Emergency Management, and is centered around decision making with a focus on Prom Night activities.

We thank Jackson County Emergency Management for their assistance in this program as well as the following agencies:

- Jackson County EMS
- Gray Hawk Volunteer Fire and Rescue
- Pond Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue
- Sand Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue
- The City of McKee Volunteer Fire and Rescue
- The Jackson County Coroner’s Office
- Air Evac

Remember, always make smart choices. You never know what effect your actions could have on those around you. We also extend a special thank you to the Jackson County High School for their continued assistance in this program.

Please be aware of the dangers of travel during this winter storm! We are available to respond if needed! Response times may be delayed due to weather and road conditions.

We are so thankful that NO ONE WAS HURT - because the dangers are real! Safety is our top priority as our crews continue to work diligently to restore service as safely and as quickly as possible.

As the effects of this winter storm continue - the number of downed power lines, trees and broken poles will continue to increase - please stay away and be safe.

We appreciate our field personnel, contract crews, dispatcher operators and support staff for their unwavering dedication and utmost care for the well-being of our members - and to our members, thank you for your continued patience, prayers and support.

🚨🚑In preparation for the possible winter storm this weekend, please gather what you need ahead of time! Anyone on oxygen, please have a backup plan in case of power outages! Jackson County EMS will respond during inclement weather, but response times will be delayed if road conditions are hazardous! 🚑🚨
