Cooling Center Open Today!

Due to the extreme weather, the Hub’s Cooling Center for the unhoused community will be in operation.
⏰ Opening Hours: Tuesday, 08/18 from 4:00 - 7:00pm.
📍 Location: Hospitality Hub, 590 Washington Ave, Memphis, TN 38105
🚐 Transportation: Transportation will be provided by MATA; requests can be made by calling 901-486-0939 during Cooling Center hours.
🍽️ Services: The Hub's regular services will be limited during the Cooling Center. Sack meals will be provided while supplies last.
❤️ Who: All are welcome. Guests will need to check in upon arrival, but IDs are not required. We strive to provide a safe, kind, and respectful environment for all.

A new look and a new name have arrived at MEM! ✈️

Memphis International Airport is now Frederick W. Smith International Airport, honoring the visionary FedEx founder whose innovation connected Memphis to the world.

The new mural along Plough Boulevard was commissioned by FedEx and painted by Paint Memphis. Its design began with a symbol created by Taylor Lackie, Creative Principal, Global Brand at FedEx. The tailfin became a commemorative logo honoring Smith’s legacy. Just as a tailfin helps keep an airplane on course, it serves as a reminder for all of us to stay on course as Memphis continues moving forward.

We’re excited to see these changes take flight and proud to welcome travelers through a gateway that reflects the creativity, history, and momentum of Memphis.

Celebrating the people who helped build Memphis. 💙

The City of Memphis hosted Retiree Appreciation Day to honor the dedicated men and women who spent their careers serving our city and its residents.

Mayor Paul Young stopped by to celebrate alongside our retirees, who enjoyed performances, special recognition, lunch, and plenty of time to reconnect and celebrate their years of service.

To all of our City of Memphis retirees: thank you for your service, your dedication, and the lasting impact you’ve made on our city. Your work is part of the foundation we continue to build on today.

Westwood Pool is back! 💦
The newly renovated pool is open to the community once again! Upgrades include a new pool bottom and liner, a replaced deck, fence repairs, and ADA improvements, creating a refreshed space for Westwood families to swim, stay active, and make memories together.
Westwood Pool will be open Tuesday through Friday from 3–6 p.m. and Saturdays from 1–6 p.m. through September 5. A Memphis Parks membership is required.
