RECAP Our mission is realized when our neighbors achieve self-sufficiency.

Established as a not for profit in 1965, RECAP serves seniors, children, vets, people living with HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, people struggling with addiction & those struggling to make ends meet. RECAP empowers people and communities challenged by poverty, racism, and social injustice by collaborating with public and private partners to provide high quality health and human services, education, advocacy, and hope.

We hope you consider RECAP in your giving!

The money we are raising during Hudson Valley Gives will be put towards our capital campaign, renovating the O&W train station in Middletown. The new home of Head Start will also include childcare programming, providing high-quality, affordable, accessible childcare for our community.

RECAP is honored to be highlighted in the Department of State’s CSBG May newsletter.

May is Community Action Awareness Month and the Department of State is highlighting RECAP’s Fresh Start Apartments opening in the City of Newburgh in June 2026.
