Tough day for Milford Fire today. We lost in tug of war to first graders, and lost to teachers (with several kids helping them) we got wet. VERY wet. Sun burned. Oh and facial muscles strained from laughing..

Milford fire would like to shout out a huge thank you to our own Sam Weissman for securing a grant to Harbor Freight to help restock our VERY outdated and depleted tool box. We use these tools daily to keep our equipment running in the best shape possible to provide the best service possible. Any maintenance we can do in-house saves tax dollars by helping to reduce our maintenence budget. These tools will certainly help! Thanks Sam!!

Milford was joined by Greenbush Fire and Bradley Fire for a joint training tonight. We went over 2 stations of basic search and advanced search and had a great time! It's important for the departments that work together to train together.. Thanks to everyone that came!!

Spring is in the Air...you know its spring when the trucks are out, the floors are clean and crew is smiling. Lt Sanborn and Firefighter Sanborn (no coincidence, as the Sanborns are a legacy father son team) spent the afternoon spring cleaning and enjoying the sunshine. Chief Peltier says he helped...hmmm

Milford Fire had the pleasure of hanging with Old Town Forestry yesterday to display our wildland brush truck and UTV during Wildland Fire Awarenss Week. Lt Bion Sanborn and Firefighter Taisey Giddinge answered questions and enjoyed the morning learning what equipment is available in the area. Taisey was interviewed by 4 news agencies!

Please be carful on the roads this morning, the first snow and freeze of the year is always tricky.

The hill near baker brook road was s very icey this morning and will get salt shortly.

Remrmber, bridges will often freeze first.

Good morning! The Milford Fire Department is collecting donations of non-perishable food items to be donated the week of Thanksgiving to the Caring Community Cupboard in Old Town. We will be accepting donations through Monday, November 24. Please contact the Fire Department with any questions you have. We have a large bin at the station that will be put outside during the day for donations to be made if we are out on a call and can't come to the door. Thank you in advance!
