Whether he's tracking suspects, training tirelessly with his handler, or standing ready to protect our community, Koa exemplifies loyalty, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the job. Behind every successful K9 is countless hours of training, trust, and teamwork, and Koa continues to impress us every step of the way.

On this National Dog Day, we extend our gratitude to Koa and all working dogs who faithfully serve alongside law enforcement every day. Thank you for your loyalty, your bravery, and the paw prints you leave on our hearts.

📚🎒 Back-to-School is Almost Here! 🚸🚌

The countdown to a new school year has begun! As students, parents, and teachers prepare for the first day of school, it's a great time for all of us to review some important safety reminders.

🚦 Drivers:
• Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
• Watch carefully for children walking, biking, or crossing the street.
• Stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.
• Put your phone away, distractions can have life-changing consequences.

🚶 Students:
• Use crosswalks whenever possible and look both ways before crossing.
• Stay alert, avoid looking at your phone while walking near traffic.
• If riding a bike or scooter, always wear a properly fitted helmet.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents:
• Review your family's walking or bus stop safety plan.
• Leave a few minutes early to help reduce the morning rush.
• Remind your children to be aware of their surroundings and never accept rides from strangers.

The beginning of the school year brings increased traffic and excited students. A little extra patience and attention can make all the difference in keeping everyone safe.

It's a big day today for our Old Town High School fall athletes!!! Today kicks off the fall season for all sports! The Old Town Police Department would like to wish every team a fun, healthy, and victorious 2026 season! GO COYOTES!!!
