We’re thrilled to get a sneak peek into the future of our emergency apparatus! The team at Horton Emergency Vehicles is hard at work on our two brand-new ambulances.

What’s new? These ambulances feature a sleek Ford chassis, marking a significant change from the International chassis we’ve been using. We can’t wait to see them in action and share more updates as we edge closer to their delivery!

** WEATHER ALERT ** Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been upgraded to a Tornado Watch this evening

⚠️🌪️ TORNADO WATCH...

The *Severe Thunderstorm Watch* has been upgraded to a *Tornado Watch* for all of Delmarva except the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

WHAT: Severe thunderstorms could produce tornadoes.

WHEN: Until 10 p.m. Thursday evening.

WHERE: All of Delmarva except the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Severe thunderstorms are expected Thursday evening that will be capable of producing all modes of severe weather, including tornadoes.

A *Tornado Watch* doesn't mean a tornado is guaranteed, but means that all folks under the watch should review where their safe spaces are (basements, interior rooms on lowest floor away from windows, etc...), and have the WBOC News and Weather apps for live updates on any watches and warnings in your neighborhood.

We had a wonderful visit from the Marine Corp League 689 to thank us for our support of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation today! They stopped by our station to share their appreciation and present us with a generous donation. MVFC is proud to serve as a Toys for Tots collection site, and we've enjoyed helping collect toys for many years. We’re excited to see what this year brings and can’t wait to welcome all the generous donations our community members drop off. Thank you so much for your kindness—we look forward to supporting you again this holiday season and beyond!

You can also help support the First Detachment of Marine Corps Legion 689! They’re raffling off a beautiful 1860 C**t Six Shot revolver, featuring a gold-plated receiver and cylinder, custom grips, and a special custom finish. This collector’s item has never been fired and comes with a wooden case and matching black powder horn.

Tickets are just $5 each, 3 for $10, or 5 for $15.

Stop by our station during business hours to purchase your tickets. Every ticket helps support veterans from all branches. The raffle drawing will take place on November 11, 2026—and you don’t need to be present to win!

Firefighters training at the Delaware State Fire School in Kent County will soon have a new tool designed to make their training look and feel more like the real thing.
