The self-help center in the Milwaukee County Courthouse. The MJC is the self-help legal center inside Milwaukee County Courthouse (Room G-9).

A collaborative project of Milwaukee County Clerk of Courts, Milwaukee Bar Association, and Marquette University Law School. It is a partnership between Milwaukee County, Marquette University Law School, and the Milwaukee Bar Assocation. In 2016, the MJC utilized the services of over 380 volunteers to assist 9809 individuals with their civil legal question.

The Diaper Drive hosted by Milwaukee Justice Center AmeriCorps and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is still going strong! Don't forget to drop off some diapers before it ends on September 10.

Starting next week, the Milwaukee Justice Center AmeriCorps, in partnership with United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, will host a diaper drive for the community. Next time you're at the courthouse, drop off some diapers at the G9 info desk!

Our AmeriCorps program was featured in Serve Wisconsin's July newsletter! During the RNC, some courthouse operations were moved to the Vel R. Phillips Youth and Family Justice Center in Wauwatosa. Our members helped courthouse staff and visitors navigate court services and programs in the new facility.

The Milwaukee Justice Center will be CLOSED next week due to the RNC. There will be no clinics, but the Civil Legal Helpline will stay open for brief questions (no legal advice).

The courthouse will be open in a limited capacity (more information here: https://county.milwaukee.gov/EN/Republican-National-Convention).

We will be back Monday, July 22.

The Milwaukee Mobile Legal Clinic joined the Milwaukee County Clerk of Circuit Court at the Juneteenth Parade this morning. So fun to see all the people and hear the cheers for the Mobile!

Applications for The Bridge Project in Milwaukee are open TODAY, Wednesday, April 10. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis for eligibility and eligible program participants will be selected by lottery. Applications will remain open until all program slots have been filled. Eligibility criteria includes:

✅18 years or older
✅23 weeks pregnant or less
✅Live in Milwaukee zip codes 53204, 53205, 53206 or 53215, with priority in ZNI neighborhoods of Lindsay Heights, Clarke Square and Layton Boulevard West
✅Have an annual household income of less than $39,000

We are thrilled to announce that the 11th Annual Run for Justice is returning to Veteran's park this year! After two years of remote runs the Milwaukee Justice Center cannot wait to run TOGETHER for justice this June 15th. The run begins at 7 pm and will be followed by a post-race bash with music by the Mission River Band. Early Bird registration is officially open. The Milwaukee Mobile Legal Clinic is thankful to be celebrating its 5th Anniversary. We were hosted by Julie Ebert and Frank Daily at an amazing event where we were able to talk about the Mobile. Without Julie and Frank's constant support, we would not be able to serve the Milwaukee Community. We would also like to thank Mike Gonring for coming out to support us, and for inspiring the Mobile Legal Clinic. A favorite quote is: “In the access to justice field we have to dream big because the problems are so large." We will continue to aim to dream big and serve the Milwaukee Community.
