Toddlers can become upset when they don’t get their way, when they don’t feel like they have control, or when they can’t verbally express their needs. These big emotions might trigger a temper tantrum. Here are some ways you as a caregiver can help your toddler work through these reactions:https://county.milwaukee.gov/files/county/DHHS/DSD/Birth-to-3/TipsforWorkingThroughTantrumswithyourChild.pdf

Urgent care | Children's Wisconsin

As flu season and RSV come in strong, we continue to hear the challenges that come with these health concerns in our community. Knowing when to take your child to the Emergency Department or when to take them to Urgent Care is the first step in making the right direction. Remember to always call 9-1-1 when there is a life-threatening illness or injury.

Here is what Children’s Hospital has to say when it comes to ED vs Urgent Care: https://childrenswi.org/medical-care/primary-care/urgent-care

Children's Wisconsin urgent care locations are the only walk-in clinics just for kids. We treat children and adolescents from birth through age 18. Open nights and weekends.

FAQ: What is a Transition in Birth to 3?

A transition is any major event that impacts a child and family, such as moving out of the county or state, moving into or between programs, coming home from the NICU, changing a child care situation, or turning 3 years old. The most common transition is leaving the Birth to 3 Program at age 3.

Winter weather advisory: Why car seats and bulky coats are an unsafe mix

When those winter winds blow, it’s a natural parental instinct to bundle your kids up before heading out. And while that’s fine if you’re going for a walk or sledding, if you’re driving anywhere it’s important to keep in mind that puffy winter coats affect how your child is secured in thei...

There are common misconceptions about the Birth to 3 Program in Milwaukee County. Make sure the information you have is correct!

Myth: Early intervention will cost me so much money, and I cannot afford it.

Fact: Birth to 3 is one the most cost-effective programs available for your child. Screening, evaluation, development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and service coordination are at no cost to families whose child is eligible for services. With your consent, services are billed under your health insurance, and a cost share is determined based on your income.

Today is World Prematurity Day. Today we raise awareness and show compassion and support families who are experiencing the anxiety of premature births. Prematurity affects too many moms and babies and is significantly fueled by the health equity gap in our health care system, communities and institution.
