Slightly old news...
Maine ATV registrations expire June 30. MDIFW is currently experiencing a temporary delay in the arrival of this year’s ATV registration stickers. Because of this delay, many town offices and other registration agents do not yet have the materials needed to process ATV registrations.
ATV renewals can be completed online. After completing the online renewal, you will receive a confirmation page that may be printed or saved for immediate use. Please keep your confirmation with you while riding. Official registrations and stickers will be mailed once stickers arrive later this month.
Temporarily, new ATV registrations for Maine residents must be completed through the MDIFW main office in Augusta. To register a new ATV, complete the ATV registration form and submit it by email to [email protected] or mail it to the main office with the required documentation. New registrations submitted by email are currently being processed within 1–2 business days.
Along with the completed registration form, please include:
For a dealer sale: A bill of sale or invoice that includes the year, make, model, VIN, purchase price, and sales tax paid.
For a private sale: A bill of sale that includes the year, make, model, VIN, and purchase price, along with a completed Use Tax Certificate.
Once the registration is processed, the official registration and stickers will be mailed to the address provided on the form. Residents who submit their registration by email should keep a copy of the sent email as proof of registration while in the field until their official registration and stickers arrive.
Nonresidents may register or renew an ATV registration online.
New registrations for Maine residents are expected to resume through registration agents, including town offices, very soon.
