We’re excited to unveil the Modesto Police Department’s newest lowrider! A one-of-a-kind vehicle built through partnership, creativity, and community pride.

This project was made possible through the City of Modesto’s contribution of a retired police vehicle, the support of local partners, and the incredible dedication and craftsmanship of students from Modesto High School and Modesto Junior College, who helped bring this vision to life.

We are grateful to the Modesto City Council for supporting this unique project and investing in opportunities that strengthen the relationship between our officers and the community we proudly serve.

This Crown Victoria isn’t just a car, t’s a conversation starter that celebrates the rich culture, creativity, and traditions that make our community unique. We look forward to bringing it to community events, schools, and neighborhood gatherings where it will help create positive interactions and lasting connections.

🔥 And there’s more… this is our June sticker! 😎 Make sure to stop by the department and grab one while supplies last!

A huge thank you to everyone who played a role in making this project a reality. This is what community collaboration looks like! 🙌🏽

📍 Neighborhood Traffic Enforcement – Snyder Avenue

We’ve received several complaints regarding speeding in the residential areas along Snyder Avenue in northwest Modesto.

While many people see our officers working major roadways and high-collision corridors, traffic safety isn’t limited to the city’s busiest streets. When residents report concerns in their neighborhoods, we respond.

Today, our Traffic Safety Unit conducted enforcement in the Snyder Avenue area in northwest Modesto and contacted drivers who were traveling at unsafe speeds through residential streets.

Speed limits in neighborhoods are designed to protect families, children, pedestrians, bicyclists, and everyone who calls these areas home. A few seconds saved behind the wheel simply isn’t worth the risk.

🚔 Slow down. Drive responsibly. Help keep Modesto neighborhoods safe.

The Modesto Police Department Holding DUI Checkpoint tonight, Friday, June 12, 2026.

Modesto, Calif. – On June 12, 2026, the Modesto Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint June 12, 2026 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Traffic Safety Unit Officer Michael Buzick said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”

The Modesto Police department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. While medicinal and recreational ma*****na are legal, driving under the influence of ma*****na is illegal.

Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
