Congratulations to Firefighter Paramedics Frank Droege and Ryan Scott, Engineer Cody Cubak, and Captain Justin Castaneda for being recognized with the Golden Brain Award from the County of Los Angeles through USC Arcadia Hospital.

This award honors their outstanding efforts in providing timely, coordinated care that helped improve outcomes for a stroke patient. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to delivering high-quality emergency medical care reflect the very best of our profession.

The Golden Brain Award is built on the principle of “Improving Outcomes, Together” — a reminder that exceptional patient care is achieved through collaboration between first responders, hospitals, and healthcare partners working toward one goal: giving patients the best possible chance at recovery.

🌿 Annual Defensible Space Inspections will begin on or after June 15 for all properties located within Monrovia’s Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.

To help residents prepare, the City of Monrovia has partnered with Athens Services to provide FREE roll-off bins and bulky item pickup for brush disposal through July 31, 2026.

Residents can schedule a bin at monroviaca.gov/BinRequest or scan the QR code.

Reducing vegetation and maintaining defensible space helps protect your home, your neighbors, and our community from wildfire. Please complete all brush clearance work before inspections begin to avoid potential reinspection fees and penalties.
