🚒 International Firefighters’ Day

Today, we pause to honor the firefighters who came before us. Those who dedicated their lives to serving others and those we have lost along the way.

The sound of the bell, the lowering of the flag, and the names on our plaque remind us of the sacrifice, commitment, and brotherhood/sisterhood that define this profession.

We remember them. We carry their legacy forward.

Thank you to all firefighters, past and present, for your service to our community. ❤️

Upcoming construction/traffic changes! 🚧

Starting in early May, the Division Street bridge will be closed to eastbound traffic while the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) repaints it.

If you need to go east, you'll have to take a detour: go north on Avon Allen Road, then take Highway 20 east to I-5, and then head south back into Mount Vernon.

We know this is a long way around, and we really appreciate your patience while the bridge gets a fresh coat of paint.

The bridge will stay open for people walking or biking. And emergency vehicles can cross when needed.

These traffic changes will affect local business, so please take the time to support our downtown and west-side businesses during construction!

Visit bit.ly/SR536SkagitRiverBridge for more information on the project.
