It's more than just a meal.

Every day, kids across America come to school having not eaten a healthy meal — or having eaten nothing at all. As costs rise and families are stretched thin, free and reduced-price school meals are a lifeline, providing the daily and reliable healthy food kids need to learn and thrive.

This week, we're celebrating National School Lunch Week, created by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life. Because every child deserves three healthy meals a day.

Sunday Update

Happy Sunday Gophers!
This weekend was cool and dry for the most part, I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy a bit of the cooler weather.
This week, the weather looks a tad confused! It is starting out warmer than normal but will cool off quickly. Because recess starts earlier in the day, it is often still pretty cool outside. Please make sure your students come dressed appropriately with sweatshirts, jackets, and closed-toe shoes.
In the classroom this week, students will be focusing on learning and finishing up units as the end of Quarter 1 quickly approaches. Looking ahead to next week, we will host Literacy Night on Wednesday—stay tuned for more information coming soon!
Have an amazing evening, and we will see everyone in the morning!

Sunday Update

Happy Sunday, Gophers!
This weekend was sunny and very fall-like—I hope everyone was able to sneak out and enjoy the weather!
This week starts off cooler, warms up, and then cools off again. We will continue to go outside for recess daily, so please make sure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor weather.
Last week, our students visited the library and did an amazing job with our awesome librarians! Here is what’s coming up this week:

- K–2 Pumpkin Patch Trip (Tuesday): Our K–2 students will be traveling to the pumpkin patch. Please make sure they are dressed appropriately and have on closed-toe shoes. Students may bring a packed lunch if they choose, or the school will provide one.
- 3–5 Marion Palace Theatre Trip (Thursday): Our 3rd–5th grade students will be jumping on the bus to head to the Marion Palace Theatre for the WOW Professor show—an exciting, interactive science performance!
- Homecoming Week: It’s Homecoming Week! If your student would love to participate in the dress-up themes each day, we are starting with PJ Day on Monday and Jersey Day on Tuesday. The complete list of daily themes is available on ParentSquare.

We are so excited for all the learning inside and outside the classroom this week. We’ll see everyone in the morning to get this amazing week started!
