We had a great time participating in the Fun Days Parade this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out to wave, say hello, and support the community.

Most importantly, we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping the parade route and the surrounding festivities safe and family friendly. Thanks to you, it was a safe and happy celebration for everyone!

All cities in Salt Lake County have now aligned with the Governor's fireworks restrictions due to extreme wildfire danger. The county fireworks map is updated to reflect these changes.

As summer approaches, we’re seeing more kids and teens riding e-bikes and electric motorcycles throughout our community. With Utah’s updated laws that took effect on May 6, 2026, we want to help keep everyone safe by making sure parents and riders understand the new requirements and laws.

These changes were created to improve safety, reduce serious crashes, and help riders of all ages responsibly enjoy Utah’s roads and trails. We encourage parents to take a few minutes to review the new rules with their children, especially regarding age restrictions, supervision requirements, registration, and where certain devices can legally be operated.

We are thrilled to welcome four new officers to the Murray City PD family!

This wasn't an ordinary swearing-in ceremony as Chief Burnett noted during the presentation that he cannot remember a time in the department’s history when we had the unique opportunity to swear in four officers all at once.

Please join us in welcoming Officer(s) Ronquillo, James, Wittmaak and Valladares as they begin their journey serving the citizens of Murray. Each brings a unique background and a shared commitment to integrity, courage and service.
