Happy Birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard! ⚓
Today we’re celebrating the incredible service and dedication of Coast Guard families by spotlighting one of our military dependents, and fellow student worker, Faith Bailey, and her father.
Faith is a junior at SFA majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Educational Interpreting!
Her father proudly served across the country, and around the world, including Missouri, Brownsville, Japan, California, Michigan, Alaska, Maine, Texas, Virginia, and North Carolina. As a Chief Boatswain’s Mate (GS-11), he found his greatest fulfillment in helping others and making a difference every day.
When asked about his favorite duty station, he chose Eastport, Maine, where he served as Executive Petty Officer before earning the rank of Chief. His proudest memory? Making Chief and helping people throughout his career.
Outside of the Coast Guard, he enjoys working around the family farm, woodworking, fixing things, and spending time building with his hands.
Thank you to Faith and her father for sharing their story, and thank you to all Coast Guardsmen, veterans, and military families for your service and sacrifice!
⚓ Happy 236th Birthday, U.S. Coast Guard!
