Quisqueya Sport Club’s Community Day brought residents and families together in the Village of Haverstraw on Sunday to celebrate community, culture, and connection.
I appreciate being there and supporting a club that does so much for the community throughout the year. From providing toys to children during the Christmas season to hosting Thanksgiving dinners and other community events, Quisqueya Sport Club consistently finds ways to give back and bring people together.

It was great to stop by the annual National Hunting and Fishing Day event yesterday at Congers Lake. Even though the rain moved the event indoors, they had a lot of people attend throughout the day.

Lionel Calvin from my office attended the sold out hanaofhudsonvalley 18th annual Scholarship fundraising GALA on Saturday evening. Lionel is from Haiti, speaks Creole and other languages, and is one of our many great constituent service members at our Senate office.

Honored to join Legislator Aney Paul and so many other friends at the India Cultural Heritage and Arts Awareness organization’s Onam celebration yesterday. They had an amazing turnout despite the weather conditions. Happy Onam!

The other day, my Chief of Staff John Mulgrew, attended a ribbon cutting for Slattery Moving and Storage. They’ve been in business since 1991 and this event celebrated their new location on Main Street in Nanuet.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the National hunting and fishing day event at Congers Lake. The event runs from 9AM to 3PM and is still happening despite the rain. Today, one of the organizers, Stan Pascoo, stopped in my office to receive a proclamation honoring the event.

Yesterday was truly an incredible day!

Thank you to the well over 1,500 seniors who joined us and made this year’s Senator Bill Weber Senior Fair such an extraordinary success. Seeing so many members of our senior community come together and take advantage of the resources and services available made all the hard work worthwhile.

A tremendous thank you as well to my incredible staff—especially my Chief of Staff, John Mulgrew—and to all 179 vendors who helped make this the most outstanding Senior Fair in Rockland County history!

And our work on behalf of Rockland’s seniors doesn’t stop with the Senior Fair. Our next Senior Advisory Council meeting is Thursday, October 8 at 11:00 AM at the Nanuet Public Library. I encourage our seniors to join us, share what’s on their minds, and help shape the programs and initiatives that matter most to them.

I will continue working to make Rockland County an even better place to live, work and age!
