Build a Birdhouse at Elm Grove Park! The Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting a free birdhouse building class for kids and aspiring ornithologists. Narberth is home to over 100 different species of birds, all needing a place to live and nest. Join us in Elm Gove Park to build your own! All materials will be provided.

Narberth’s 2026 Spring Clean-up week will be held from June 1-5!

Please put out your items the night before your scheduled route for collection. Please review the list of item restrictions and see the attached map route for each collection day. For questions regarding acceptable trash items, please contact J.P. Mascaro directly at 1-800-432-1616. Regular trash routes will remain the same during this week.

The week of June 1, 2026, has been designated as Spring Clean Up Week in the Borough of Narberth. During this week our waste collection contractor J.P. Mascaro will collect items that are not normally removed during weekly trash service. These materials are to be placed curbside and will be collected on the day of the week as listed below. Due to the stipulations of PA Act 101, the following restrictions will apply.

-Building materials, such as wood, plaster and concrete, will not be collected.
-Hazardous waste, such as paint, chemicals, and pesticides will not be collected. Montgomery County hosts hazardous events throughout the year. Details can be found by visiting the County’s website: https://www.montcopa.org/637/Recycling-Information
-Electronic waste, such as televisions, computers, keyboards, sound equipment, etc. will not be collected. Please visit the County’s website for disposal options: https://www.montcopa.org/707/Electronics-Program
-Lawn & garden waste will not be collected. Lawn and yard waste are collected every Wednesday during normal collection.
-Appliances, such as air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washers, and dryers, will not be collected as part of this free pick up. Please contact J.P. Mascaro (888-627-2276) directly to arrange a pick-up.
-Rugs will be collected but must be cut into 4-foot lengths, rolled, and tied with string.
-Metals will not be collected.
-TIRES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED!

Below is a brief summary of the May 26, 2026, Infrastructure Committee meeting. Official minutes will be posted once adopted, and video recordings are available on the Borough website within one week of the meeting.

πŸ“Œ Infrastructure Committee Meeting Recap β€” May 26, 2026

The Committee recommended approval of the following to Borough Council:
- Installation of safety fencing around stormwater bumpouts.
- Installation of intersection improvements at Wynnedale & Shady with additional considerations to widen both corners of the intersection.
- Design of stormwater bumpouts on Wynnedale subject to further review of exact locations and engineer consideration of resident concerns.
-Authorization to proceed with the design of the Narberth Library vestibule replacement.

The Committee had preliminary discussions of the 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Plan.

The 19th Annual Narbark Dog Parade returns to downtown Narberth on Sunday, June 7th at 1:00 PM.

This cherished community event invites local dog owners to dress up their pups and parade through town in costume, a fun and festive celebration for the whole family.

The Borough is issuing this update regarding the N. Narberth Avenue Bridge project.

On Thursday night, May 28th, PECO Electric is scheduled to install new conductor cables and transfer the current cables across the bridge spanning Amtrak. Then, on Thursday night, June 4th, PECO will proceed with removing the existing conductor cables.

There will be some interruptions that will affect PECO customers. PECO will be notifying the affected customers.

The Borough will continue to provide project updates as schedules are refined and work progresses. Residents are encouraged to check the Borough website regularly for the latest information.
