Lower Merion Township and the Borough of Narberth will host a public meeting to present the preliminary recommendations of the Montgomery Avenue Corridor Safety Plan. Funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program, the joint planning effort focuses on improving safety and mobility for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians along seven miles of Montgomery Avenue, from Spring Mill Road to City Avenue.

The recommendations were developed using crash and traffic data, along with feedback received from the community earlier this year. The meeting will provide an overview of proposed improvements at key segments and intersections, with an opportunity for residents to ask questions and provide feedback. The recommendations are conceptual and do not represent final plans, approvals needed or current budgetary commitments by either Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.

🚦 Traffic Alert: New Four-Way Stop at Conway & Sabine

To improve safety for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, Narberth Borough Council has approved Ordinance No. 1074, establishing a four-way stop at the intersection of Conway Avenue and Sabine Avenue.

📍 As shown in the photos below, new stop signs have been installed. All vehicles approaching the intersection must now come to a complete stop before proceeding.

✅ Stop in all directions
✅ Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks
✅ Proceed only when it is your turn and the intersection is clear

Please be mindful of this traffic pattern change and help keep our neighborhood streets safe for everyone.

Let's work together to keep our community looking beautiful this fall.

All leaves from your property must be:

✅ Bagged in paper garden bags OR
✅ Placed loose in a regular trash container

Set them out on Wednesdays for Brush & Yard Waste Collection by JP Mascaro & Sons. Please remember:

🚫 Public Works does not provide curbside leaf collection.
🚫 Leaves should never be blown or raked into the street for pickup.
🚫 Street sweeper operators are instructed to go around leaf piles left in the roadway.

📌Below is a brief summary of the October 15, 2026 Borough Council Business Meeting Summary. Official minutes will be posted once adopted, and video recordings are available on the Borough website within one week of the meeting.

Borough Council Business Meeting Summary Recap — October 15, 2026

Council approved final escrow releases for completed land development projects at 146 Merion Ave., 100 Forrest Ave., and 203 Haverford Ave. and appointed Charles Kurt Enzinger Jr. to the Industrial Development Authority.

In addition, Council approved the adoption of Ordinance No. 1074 to install a stop sign at the intersection of Sabine Ave. & Conway Ave. creating an all-way stop. Council authorized advertisement of Ordinance No. 1073 creating fitness and indoor recreation uses in the Borough's zoning code. Council will consider adoption at their November Business Meeting. Council approved Resolutions for an application to the LSA grant program and to express support to SEPTA for improvements to Narberth Station. Council appointed Transcend Finance as the Borough's accounting firm and authorized Narberth Sport and Recreation to conduct a survey of the Narberth Park baseball field. Council reviewed a proposal to install a Verizon wireless facility in the downtown and continued discussions of the 2027 budget.

Finance & Administration Committee Summary Recap — October 13, 2026

The Committee recommended Council adopt Resolution 2026-16 expressing support to SEPTA for improvements to Narberth Station. In addition, the Committee recommended release of final escrows for completed land development projects at 146 Merion Ave., 100 Forrest Ave., and 203 Haverford Ave, establishment of a sewer fund reserve, and appointment of Charles Kurt Enzinger, Jr. to the Industrial Development Authority.

The Committee continued discussion of policy changes regarding facility rentals at 100 Conway Ave. and discussed upcoming Board/Commission/Committee reappointments.

In support of the ongoing N Narberth Ave Bridge replacement project, Henkels & McCoy will be onsite from 12AM - 4AM to relocate the Zayo Bandwidth fiberoptic cable on Amtrak's catenary structure.

The Borough will continue to provide project updates as schedules are refined and work progresses. Residents are encouraged to check the Borough website regularly for the latest information.
