Perry County is accepting applications for Full Time Caseworker 1 Position in the Children & Youth Services Department.

This civil service position is responsible to provide a full range of social and case management services to children, youth, and families.

Primary duties include:

Performs service planning on intakes to include completion of intake documentation
Determine risk using approved risk assessment model
Investigate reports of mistreatment and abuse of children
Perform home visits with families to develop family service plans
Performs out of home placement duties

Successful candidate must possess:
Bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social science
OR
Two year’s experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social science
OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position

Compensation includes a starting salary of $21.36/hour. Perry County employment offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes generous paid time off, a County retirement plan, and health, dental, and vision insurance after a 90-day probation period.

Perry County is accepting applications for a Full Time and a Part Time Deputy in the Sheriff’s Office. These positions are responsible to maintain security in the Courtroom, as well as all other County buildings.

Primary duties include:
• Perform courtroom and county building security
• Transport inmates
• Serve civil papers including writs, complaints, court orders, and protection from abuse orders
• Serve warrants
• Prepare paperwork for service and sheriff sales
• Prepare and issue license to carry and license to sell permits

Qualifications
• High School Graduate, or equivalent
• Valid PA Driver’s License
• Must be 21 years of age

Act 2 or Act 120 training and/or law enforcement experience is preferred.

Compensation includes a starting salary of $21.36/hour, with consideration for relevant experience. Perry County Conservation District is seeking an Agricultural Program Lead. This position is responsible for providing oversight for administering Perry County’s Ag Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP), PA’s Nutrient Management Program (Act 38), PA’s Manure Management Program (PA Chapter 91), and PA’s Chapter 102 regulations dealing with Ag Erosion and Sediment Control plans on agricultural operations in Perry County. Provides oversight and training of program related activities for the agricultural technicians. Provides technical assistance and services to the Perry County agricultural community in the form of assessing and addressing natural resource issues.
Primary duties include:
1. Assists in the supervision of Conservation District Ag Resource Technicians to maintain continuous and efficient operations to include setting workload priorities, review and delegation of work of Nutrient Management and Manure Management Program.
2. Ensures ag staff receive sufficient training for developing MMPs and Ag E&S Plans
3. Directs the training and professional development of the Ag Resource Technicians by providing in house training and recommending outside certification programs and training opportunities.
4. Assists the agricultural community in the planning, layout, engineering, design and implementation of Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs), verify and document that installed BMPs meet appropriate standards.
5. Takes lead on proper completion and submission of quarterly reporting materials
6. Assists with Farmland Preservation applicant ranking, farm inspections, and is point of contact for state agencies regarding the Farmland Preservation program in Perry County
7. Coordinates the agricultural outreach activities of the Conservation District

Successful candidate possesses:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in agronomy, agriculture, or related degree
2. Three years of experience in the field or related area
3. Supervisory experience preferred

Compensation includes a starting salary of $27.91/hour with consideration for relevant experience.
