🌊☀️ Splash Day 2026! ☀️🌊

On the last day of school, May 29, our 8th–11th grade students celebrated the end of an amazing year at our 2nd Annual Splash Day! 🎉

Students chose between indoor activities like gaming, karaoke, and movies, and outdoor water fun to cool off and make memories with friends. There was also plenty of delicious food to enjoy, including nachos, hot dogs, snowballs, and more! 🌭🍧🎮🎤

What a fantastic way to wrap up the school year and celebrate all the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our Pelicans. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and restful summer! 💙💛

Thank you to Morris Jeff parent Ellie Streiffer for sharing these joyful photos from Camp Dream Street, where Morris Jeff students, alumni, and moms are making memories, building friendships, and living it up this summer. 💙💛 (Ellie is a member of the Camp Dream Street Board of Advisors and a volunteer occupational therapist at the camp!)

As Ellie shared, “Just like Morris Jeff, Camp Dream Street is a true community where everyone matters, everyone is loved, and everyone brings a gift. We all learn and grow because of each other.”

Camp Dream Street creates a space where children with physical disabilities can simply be kids — having fun, feeling included, and experiencing the magic of community. Their mission beautifully aligns with Morris Jeff’s belief that every child deserves a sense of belonging, opportunity, and the freedom to thrive.

Our youngest Pelicans can teach us so much. As we witnessed last night, nothing could stop the last-day-of-school joy—not even a downpour! As Aubrey (now an official 1st grader) could be heard saying, “THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!”, our students showed us how to find the sunshine in every situation. What started as a rainy event turned into an unforgettable water party filled with laughter, splashing, and pure joy.

Core memory unlocked. 💙☔

We’re so glad the rain cleared, and the rides were ready to welcome our students as we celebrated an incredible year together. More photos to come!

🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Zoe Moseley, Class of 2022 🎓

We are so proud to celebrate Morris Jeff alum Zoe on her graduation from Davidson College, where she earned her degree cm laude in Political Science with a minor in Public Health!

During her time at Davidson, Zoe embraced a wide range of academic experiences, explored disciplines from physics to religion, and made a lasting impact on campus through her leadership and advocacy. Over four years working in the college library, she developed skills in mentorship, outreach, and student engagement, while also championing disability inclusion through the Davidson Disability Alliance.

This fall, Zoe will continue making a difference as a Davidson Impact Fellow at the Charlotte Community Health Clinic.

Congratulations, Zoe! Your dedication to service, equity, and lifelong learning reflects the very best of the Morris Jeff community. 💙💛

🎓️ On Friday, May 22, 2026, we celebrated the Morris Jeff Class of 2026! 🎓️

We are also grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating our seniors, especially Dr. Fateama Fulmore, Superintendent of NOLA Public Schools, and our 2026 commencement speaker. Her words reminded our graduates not to let fear stand in the way of their dreams. She inspired our Pelicans to fly high!

What a wonderful night filled with joy, pride, and possibility. We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and cannot wait to see where their journeys take them next.

Thank you to Franklin Avenue Baptist Church for providing us with such a beautiful space to honor our graduates.
