Meet Thomas, a CPC community member who has been connected to CPC since 1997. Over the years, Thomas has participated in a variety of programs, including services for families with special needs, group respite, and community habilitation resources.

As CPC’s programs have evolved to meet the changing needs of our community, we’ve had the privilege of seeing Thomas grow alongside them, developing new skills, reaching new goals, and becoming a stronger advocate for himself and his community.

Over the past year, Thomas has focused on building his advocacy skills and finding his voice, participating in various advocacy events, including our City Hall Day of Action.

Celebrating the people and partnerships behind CPC’s innovation! 🌟

Last week, CPC hosted a celebratory lunch honoring the staff who helped develop our new CRM suite, an important tool that allows us to identify service gaps and expansion opportunities with greater precision by analyzing data across our organization.

We’re grateful to celebrate alongside Edgar Pereira, Chief Program Officer; Chris Cianciola, Salesforce Account Executive; and Kiyo, Founder of NYC’s Izakaya Juraku, who catered our celebration lunch.

Our work is made stronger by the incredible community partnerships that make it possible.

How are you spending the last days of summer? 🍦

The long, dog days of summer are coming to an end, and a new school year in NYC begins on Thursday! Here’s a look back at students at CPC’s School-Age Child Care Center at P.S. 20 making the most of summer before heading back to school. ✏️🚌🍎

Over the summer, participants in CPC’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) spent their time at CPC’s Nan Shan Older Adult Center helping older adults strengthen their digital literacy.

Together, the youth participants created a user-friendly technology guide with step-by-step instructions that our older adults can refer to throughout the year.

We’re grateful to our youth for making a lasting impact on their community, and we congratulate them on successfully completing the program! 🎉

This August, CPC's Manhattan Senior Housing programs celebrated summer with its annual Senior Summer Carnival, bringing older adults together for an afternoon of fun, relaxation, and community. ☀️

The event provided an opportunity for residents to connect, enjoy shared activities, stay active, and build meaningful connections. We're grateful to the dedicated staff and volunteers who helped make this celebration possible!

Last month, journalist Shen Lu published a moving essay in ChinaFile about developing a deeper connection to the Chinese immigrant community through a textile workshop for elderly women at CPC’s Brooklyn Community Center (BCC) in Sunset Park.

Through embroidery, weaving, and patchwork, community members preserve memories and stories shaped by migration, factory work, hardship, and family. Through her time at BCC, Lu reflects on her own Chinese identity, and her original purpose as a journalist: telling the stories of ordinary people whose lives are often overlooked.

We were honored to be featured in Shen’s moving essay and grateful that she captured the resilience and creativity of our community. Link in bio to read the full piece.

🥕🌱 Our vegetable garden at CPC Early Childhood Center at Chung Pak is growing!

Gardening gives children more than just the chance to grow plants, it creates opportunities to explore, ask questions, build confidence, and learn through hands-on experiences. As they care for their garden, children develop curiosity, practice important life skills, connect with nature, and discover the joy of watching something grow.

We are grateful for Chung Pak LDC, who allowed our little ones to explore gardening and experience the joy of growing plants on a rooftop oasis in the heart of New York City Chinatown.
