On Tuesday, Oct 13 at NYU Silver School of Social Work(thank you Sarah for checking location different name I believe), the Eisner Foundation hosted its 30th anniversary celebration. Concerts in Motion is a five time grantee of the Eisner Foundation’s innovative support of intergenerational programs. We were so honored to be featured at this important event. Our Founder and Executive Director Jennifer Carnahan Glaz was invited to speak about our work and impact, we shared our newest film spotlighting our intergenerational program and CiM Youth Roster Member Wenlu Su shared her testimony and performed (what piece) on a piano donated to NYU by the Sinatra Family.

The support provided by the Eisner Foundation has been instrumental in strengthening our intergenerational program. As the only U.S.-based foundation exclusively focused on intergenerational solutions to society’s challenges, we are especially honored to be selected as a featured organization at this important event.

Have you ever felt a hush come across a room when music is being played? Experiencing different emotions depending on the memories or connection to the song or genre. It is truly magical.

Our Intergenerational Program embodies the magic of music. The connection that music creates between our student musicians and their audiences is undefinable in many ways and often, best expressed through the music itself.

“It’s amazing what music does to bring people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds together.”

We couldn’t agree more with this testimonial from the Director of Supportive Services at Shames JCC on the Hudson! At today’s concert, there was singing, harmonica and guitar jamming, dancing, and most importantly, JOY!
